Phyllis Adam works together with her husband, John Adam, as a team. We have 64 plus years of combined Real Estate experience. Phyllis Adam has been a licensed REALTOR® since 1988 and John has been a licensed REALTOR® since 1984. They have been happily married since 2004. They are associated with RE/MAX Advantage Realty as the Phyllis and John Adam Team. Phyllis has received her ABR (Accredited Buyer Representative); GRI (Graduate of Real Estate Institute); CRS (Certified Real Estate Specialist); PSA (Pricing Strategy Advisory) and the CDPE certification (Certified Distressed Property Expert). They both are life members of the Million Dollar Real Estate Professionals and members of the Carroll County REALTORS®, Maryland REALTORS®, and the National Association of REALTORS®.
Phyllis, a long time Carroll County resident, has three adult children and four grandchildren. She received her A.A. Degree from Villa Julie College, now known as Stevenson University as a Business/Legal Secretarial major in 1976, and worked for a local law firm. She entered the real estate profession in 1988 and has been active ever since. She discovered her passion for volunteering fifteen years ago, first with the Million Dollar Real Estate Professionals and then with the local board association, Carroll County REALTORS. She served as a Board of Director for both organizations and ran the chairs as an officer.
Most recently she has served with Carroll County REALTORS® as the 2017 - 2018 President. She currently serves on the Board as Immediate Past President and continues to co-chair various standing committees for the association. Phyllis also has been active with Maryland REALTORS® as a Director in 2017-2018, the Nominating Committee, and the Leadership Advisory Board for 2018 – 2020. She made a commitment to the local chapter of the Boys & Girls Club of Westminster where she initiated a fundraising effort with the CCR members where they collectively raised $6,650.00 to present to the Boys & Girls Club this past October. She has received the most prestigious and honorable REALTOR® of the Year for 2018-2019 at CCR’s Awards Gala. Phyllis is also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary & Legion Riders of the Sykesville American Legion Post 223 and participates in the fundraising activities for Homes for Heroes and Wounded Warrior Project.
John is the father of two adult children and eleven grandchildren. He started his career as a blue-collar worker as a pressman and received his real estate license in 1984, where he was considered a dual-career agent. After retiring from his full-time job in 2012, John became a full-time REALTOR® and took a more active role with the Phyllis & John Adam Team of RE/MAX Advantage Realty. John is a Legionnaire member & Legion Rider of the Sykesville American Legion Post 223 and participates in the fundraising activities supporting our troops and our veterans. In his early years as a young man, he proudly served his country in the army. Both John and Phyllis come from military family background. John’s father served as 1st Sergeant in the Army and was part of the D-Day invasion. John’s son proudly served as a Marine and later entered a career in law enforcement where he continues today. Phyllis’ father, now 94, served in the Navy and the Naval Reserves and retired as Lt. Commander. Phyllis’ step-father, who recently passed away at age 88, served in the Navy as well.
